Hodling is typically an investment style that's supported by a belief system-but not all beliefs are principle based-i try to invest principle based with a tight risk control that's not based on beliefs but on truths-most often people hodl due to the lack of skills on how to manage volatility

but like most everything there is also a place for hodl and martingale strategies-they are very rare situations though
